Day 7 - Arrived in Trang Thailand in 8 hours

Hard days drive. Took 8 hours from start to finish.. Including a 6km Test across the Paddy fields. Final Malay Test. The heat was on for the 'serious' competitors. It was a single track test with just a minute in between each car. We begged lol for a minute gap.. I think we got it. Thry allowed 16 minites for the test and we managed it at a steady pace in 10 something or other.. 

Border crossing went very smoothly for us anyway. Not all the cars are in yet so they will have their own tales to tell..

Great roads in Thailand and quite deserted. Maybe coz its a saturday!

The people seem so so different from Malaysia.. 

Not many cameras a clicking here today. They may raise their head to look force a smile but the villagers along the way arent that interested in the old banger lol 

The dwellings are changing quite dramatically and now not every other house is a cafe full of peeps just chilling and drinking tea in the shade as in Malaysia and already we are missing the glorious spicey scents that seemed to fill the air just a stones throw away..

We have overdosed on blue skies and very hot sunshine. Tough day but had a lovely welcome from this hotel that is shaped like a yacht lol  - lemon tea, a necklace of flowers and cold flannel in this £58 a night (ac. to booking.com)

Another long day tomorrow so early curly night after last nights 1am 'turn in' after an evening at Farquars Bar.. Lol

We dont need to stay too close to the citroen!!! At least they are still smiling. Very nice couple.

Some Teams are only just trickling into the Foyer looking shattered. Some said that they were stuck at the border for hours. One passed out and a few had car problems once into Thailand. So not a good day for all. We pulled the long straw today but tomorrow is another day.
